About Erica

Where I got a start
Planting the Seed
I was a weird little Prairie kid - obsessed with forests and mountains and already using gold and silver crayons to embellish them.
I guess it worked, though?
I won my first-ever art contest with an image I designed and coloured as a 7-year-old, and the idea that I could "do art" was planted.

But first, Life...
Laying Dormant
Still, "doing art" wasn't a career, was it?
My family values math, science, technology, logic. Art was encouraged as a hobby, but not as a Real Job.
So I buckled down, got a degree, did an internship and became a dietitian.
I got busy pretending I was doing everything I thought was expected of me.

A Breakthrough in a Breakdown
Starting to Grow
Crisis led me back to creativity.
In the fertile ground of grief, my self-expression put down roots.
Art reclaimed beauty from adversity. Now, both scars and triumphs are consistent themes in my work.
Sharing my art has led to profound reconnection with nature and with the divine humanity of people.

Flowering and Maturing
Coming to Fruition
Art has the power to transform and connect us.
I went years before returning to painting. Still, art has always been there, patiently holding me in the background: my sanctuary, my voice, and my teacher.
Now, it is my offering to the world.
I invite you into this space of discovery. Come find beauty and sanctuary, your own voice and your power.
